God's acceptance of those who are in Christ is so complete that He is always ready to meet us right where we are and just as we are with the embrace of His perfect love. The only problem is we are often not willing to meet with Him on the same basis! We have a hard time accepting that God really does love us just as we are. These unbelieving feelings are often rooted in the very real rejections we have experienced from others and even from ourselves.
The way back to close communion with God is to fully forgive those who have rejected us, fully accept ourselves just as He does, release all past feelings of rejection, and embrace this liberating truth of our total acceptance by Him. God made up His mind about us long before we were born: It’s time we did too!
All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 ESV
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ… According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world… Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself… wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. Ephesians 1:3-6 KJV
